Jamila Young is a health equity advocate, a creative, an attorney, and an educator. After over a decade serving in legal, health care, and government capacities, she has transitioned into academia as an associate professor of Health Law & Policy at Salem College.
Jamila’s research and work focuses on health & bioethics, race and the law, programs to build pipelines for the next generation, DEIB, cultural humility, and reproductive justice.
Jamila is a native of Albany, Georgia. She received her B.A. in English from Kennesaw State University, her J.D. from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University School of Law, and her LL.M in Health Law and Policy from Hofstra University. She is active in her community in capacities such as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and the alumni board of directors at Kennesaw State University. One of the biggest joys in her life is spending time and taking road trips with her amazing seven-year-old son, Tre.
